iconKids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta Cheer Camp 2009

On Sunday, January 11th 2009, the Open Pythons cheerleading team volunteered their time and skills with the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta. They hosted a mini clinic for kids that have been affected by childhood cancer, and taught them a variety of skills from motions, cheers and stunts. It was a fun-filled afternoon with much laughter, smiles and a sense of accomplishment.

“What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. For just two hours we provided them with a chance to forget about cancer. I got to share my passion with kids who deserve to be kids.” ~ Python athlete

The Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta (KCCFA) is a charitable organization that helps build bridges of hope and pillars of support for families fighting childhood cancer. The Foundation is built on a successful and thriving history of delivering safe, quality camp and community experiences for young people and their families affected by cancer. The free community programs and summer camps offer young people across Alberta a chance to escape the rigours of cancer treatments for fun-filled adventure programs. After months of bed-ridden isolation, children who attend community programs soon discover they are not alone in their struggles.
